This week was the last week of the project. I think this was a pretty productive week. I got some good exercise in. I don't think I improved very much, but I still feel good about this week.
This week I had one game and three days of practice. I was originally supposed to have practice on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but due to the snow, practice was cancelled on Friday and Saturday. The days we did have practice, I think I did some very good work. We did the same stuff we normally do in practice. We also ran a lot in order to increase our stamina in games. On Wednesday we had a game against AL Brown. We won that game. On Sunday I ran my mile. It was very cold that morning. My mile time for this week was 7:05. I don't think I improved much, but my time went down one second. I think this week was kind of a neutral week, where I didn't improve, but I didn't get worse. Overall I think that was a good week.

This is the second to last week of the project. I think this was a pretty good week. Even though I have not been training specifically to lower my mile time, I have been making decent progress. I have played a significant amount of minutes this season. That has probably helped increase my stamina a lot.
This week we had two games and three days of practice. That is normally how each week will go throughout the season (I think). On Monday, the team and I had a pretty good practice. We did a little bit of drills, went over the plays, then did some full court 5 on 5 stuff. On Tuesday had a game at West Rowan, which we lost. On Wednesday and Thursday we had practice, in which we did the same stuff we normally do, but we practiced boxing out more that usual because no one is doing it in a game. On Friday we had a game, the first home game at the new school. We that won game. On Sunday I ran and my time was 7:06. I think this week was a good week. I made some good progress, even though I am not working out. Next week will be a bit of a laid back week. This is the tenth week of the project and we are getting close to the end. I think this week was a fairly productive week. This week I had two games, one day of practice, and I ran on Saturday. I didn't do much on Thursday and Friday because of Thanksgiving plans with family. I don't think this will negatively impact my progress too much.
On Monday, we had a game against Rockingham County, which was two hours away. That was a tough game because they are 4th in the state for 3A teams, so we had to run a lot. On Tuesday, we had another game, but this time against North Davidson, who I do not like. Wednesday morning, we had practice and we did the stuff we normally do at practice, like running, drills, and going over plays. On Thursday and Friday I did not do much, except stretch in the morning and at night. Saturday afternoon I ran a mile and got 7:06, the same as last week. Though I did not decrease my mile time this week, I am not disappointed in my progress. I have not trained in a couple of weeks, but I am still maintaining my speed and strength pretty well. This week was about the same as last week. I had practice every day. I did not have any games or scrimmages this week, just practice. I think this week was more productive than last week though. I do not feel that much stronger, but I feel like I did a little more than last week.
At practice we just did basically the same thing everyday. We did, lots of running, drills, and a lot of shooting. We went over our plays that we use over and over again to make sure we know them. We also do 3 on 3, 4 on 4, and 5 on 5 drills every practice, which really help with stamina because they are like little scrimmages. We also do lots of running, like suicides and laps. I think these activities positively affect my progress. Overall I think I made pretty good progress this week. On Sunday, I ran my mile. My time did decrease, but just barely. My time was 7:06. I think that is pretty goof considering I have not really been training specifically to get my mile time down. I think this week was an average week. I don't feel like I got stronger, but also don't think that I got weaker. This week was the first full week of basketball practice. We practiced Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Thursday we had scrimmages at Statesville and Forbush.
This week at practice we learned and went over lots of new offensive and defensive sets. On Monday we ran and went over new plays. On all the other days of practice we basically did the same things, but we went over different plays. The only thing different about practice each day is the kinds of plays we learn. Normally at practice we just do different drills that work on specific skills. This was a normal week at practice. Overall this was just an average week. I had practice everyday and a scrimmage on Thursday. I feel like I maintained my strength well. My mile time was 7:07. This week is the first week of basketball, so I did not go to the gym at all. During basketball season I do not go to the gym very much because of practice or a game every day. I do not think this will hurt my progress too much because we run and sprint a lot during practice. The only problem with not being able to workout is that I will not be able to gain muscle, so I'll have to work hard maintain it.
On Monday of this week, I went the first day of basketball tryouts where we did lots of drills and running. On Tuesday we did drills that worked on skills and running again, but different ones. On Wednesday we split up into JV and Varsity. The varsity team did running and skill drills and we went over the basics of our offense. I do not know what the JV team did. On Thursday we did basically the same drills and stuff as the other days because it was still tryouts. On Friday we did not have tryouts or practice, which I was very happy about. On Saturday I did not workout or run at all. On Sunday I ran my mile for the week. My mile time for this week was 7:07, the same as the week before again. I think that this week was not a very good week for my running progress because now that basketball is going to get in the way, I probably won't make any progress. Basketball season stops about the first of February, so I will be in season for the remainder of this project. I think that is really going to have a negative impact on trying to get my mile time down. This week I went to the gym 3 times this week and ran on Saturday. I think that this week I did pretty good at the gym, though my mile time did not change. I think that that is just part of running, because sometimes you will hit a rough patch where it feels like you aren't making any progress.
On Monday we did legs and some exercises exercises we did were front squats, sprints, one-legged dead lifts, and sprints. That day was a fun workout and I felt pretty good after it. On Tuesday we did arms, which was a long and not very enjoyable workout. That day we did tire flips, burpees, lots of ab exercises, and other arm exercises. The last day I went to the gym, Thursday, we did a different variation of the workout we did on Monday. On Saturday I ran my mile for the week and my time was 7:07, the same as last week. This week was a pretty good week at the gym even though my mile time didn't decrease. I feel like I still made good progress at the gym because exercises that I started doing months, or even years, ago are getting easier and I am able to do more weight. This week I went to the gym 3 times and I ran on Saturday. I feel like this week was pretty successful and that I made some good progress. The workouts this week were not necessarily hard, they were just long and required a lot of stamina.
On Monday I did a workout that mostly worked on upper body, but also incorporated a lot of running and plate pushes. That workout was very hard. On Tuesday I did a workout that worked on the lower body by doing exercises like back squats, lunges, sprinting, and wall sits. I also did abs that day too. For the last workout of the week on Thursday I did basically the same kind of workout on Monday, but with different upper body exercises. For my run on Saturday my time was 7:07. Considering the results from this week, I am proud of the process I have been making. I feel like I am getting faster and stronger. So far, my mile time has decreased quite a bit, so the workouts and running I am doing must be helping. This week I got back into the normal flow of things. I went to the gym 3 times this week and I ran my mile this weekend. I think that I made pretty good progress this week, despite not going to the gym much last week. I figured that not going to the gym last week would hurt my progress, but it did not. I actually shaved time off of my mile time.
On Monday, I did not go to the gym. On Tuesday, I did go to the gym where we did lots of body weight exercises such as squats, push ups, lots of ab exercises, and sprints. On Wednesday I also went to the gym and we did lots of speed work and exercises that will help you become quicker. We also did lots of exercises with the bar. On Thursday, I went to the gym where we did the same thing we did on Wednesday, but a different variation. On Friday I did not work out or run at all. On Saturday I ran a 7:10 again. Overall I think this week was pretty successful. I went to the gym 3 times this week and I did pretty good each day. Despite not going to the gym at all last week because of scheduling problems, It did not really effect my progress at all. I maintained my time from last week, which I was pretty proud of. In all, I would say I am making pretty good progress for the 4th week. In total I have already taken off 2 seconds from my baseline mile. This week was not very productive. I did not go to the gym at all because I was extremely busy every day after school. Although I did not go to the gym I did get a mile. I think that this will negatively effect my training and progress. Next week I will try much harder to get in at least three workouts.
On Monday, I did not go to the gym because I did not have a way to get their due to conflicts with my sibling's sports. On Tuesday, I was staying in a hotel in Charlotte that night. Wednesday was a very hectic day. I woke up at five that morning to go to the airport and fly to NYC for the day. I ended up getting home around twelve. On Thursday, I again did not have a ride and I had lots of work to make up from Wednesday. On Friday, I don't usually go to the gym anyway. On Saturday I ran a mile and my time was 7:10. Overall this was not the most productive week, but next week I will work to do better. |
